Making Your Audience The Hero

The spring keynote season is in full swing, and I have more in-flight storyboards than ever. I like to check out best practices and was watching the recent NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang, deliver his keynote for their GTC 2021 user conference. You can watch it here. Over 100,000 attendees - wow! What really caught my attention was his tagline "FOR THE DA VINCIS OF OUR TIME".


This appears as the title of slide 6, when he is talking about how awesome the event will be. How many Turing award winners were presenting, how many Gorden Bell award winners, how many Oscar winners. On top of all the technology from NVIDIA. All for the audience, for the Da Vincis. The artists. The engineers. The creators.


It was so simple, yet so powerful. Inspiring, easy to internalize. To visualize, after all, NVIDIA is a graphics company. They make hardware, for sure. But they are used by today's Da Vincis.


I've already begun working this technique into our storylines. It's a winner...making your audience the hero.
